Monopoly: Vintage Bookshelf Edition is an exclusive and elegant collector's variant in an international format developed under official license by WS Game Company. Launched on the market originally in 2006, this piece stands out for drastically breaking away from traditional packaging to present itself in a cardboard box with an original design of a book without pages. Upon opening it, we discover that it functions as a container coffer where the entire game is sheltered inside, fusing collecting with the aesthetics of a classic library.

Packaging format: Rigid cardboard box with the format and design of a classic library book (container coffer without pages).
Distribution: Premium international edition produced by WS Game Company (Winning Solutions), commercialized mainly in the North American market and specialized import department stores.
Condition: Opened unused. Complete intact piece with all its original components complete, cards in perfect condition and book-box without storage wear.
Peculiarities of this edition: The great attraction of this version is its historical fidelity combined with a high-end presentation very focused on detail. Although it recovers the graphic section inspired by the original 1935 classic, it hides unique aesthetic and collectible elements:
Upon opening the lid: The collector's experience begins immediately with a singular blue frontispiece that details in its entirety the historical chronology of the birth of the game, serving as a prelude before reaching the components. The text I have put translated a little further below.
Board (design and folding): It presents a spectacular and colorful geometric mosaic-type pattern on its reverso that is exclusive and unique to this premium collection, not having been seen or used again in any other standard print run of the brand WS Game Company. In addition, it stands out for its ingenious system of folding in 6 parts, designed specifically to fit to the millimeter within the reduced size of the "book".
Properties and stations: They maintain the traditional standard of each national board without any alteration in the spaces, respecting the classic distribution so as not to affect the original game experience.
"Chance" and "Community Chest" cards: They recover exactly the same graphic design of the Speed Die Edition, presenting themselves in a reduced size cardstock format in their iconic orange and yellow colors. It stands out especially that their reversos come completely clean, without any type of symbol, text or modern logo.
Tokens: It has a total of 8 classic metallic tokens of high quality (die-cast ) that faithfully replicate the traditional figures that made history in the game.
Wooden components: It completely substitutes the plastic pieces of the common versions to incorporate houses and hotels manufactured entirely in solid wood.

Germantown, Pennsylvania, 1930. In the middle of the Great Crash, Charles B. Darrow, an unemployed engineer, was looking for an affordable distraction for his family and friends. Remembering his last vacation in the seaside resort of Atlantic City, New Jersey, he imagined a game using the names of the streets and railroad lines of that city. His game quickly became popular among his acquaintances. Darrow sensed that it would be a success and began to produce a few copies to sell them in local shops.
From 1934 onwards, the production of Monopoly accelerated at a frantic pace. Being unable to secure the manufacturing by himself, he proposed his game to the Parker Brothers company. At first it was rejected due to "52 fundamental errors", but in 1935 the society reconsidered, bought the rights to the game and Darrow, finally, retired... a millionaire.
