Monopoly 80th Anniversary Edition (2015)

Packaging format: Standard rectangular box (official 80th Anniversary 1935–2015 design). 

Distribution: Hasbro Gaming (International / Spain), with a very limited national distribution for its Spanish version, estimated at around 2,500 to 3,000 units intended for the Spanish market. 

Condition: Sealed. 

Peculiarity of this edition: Its main appeal lies in reviving the game's classic components in a retro format, highlighting the aged finish of its board and the return of premium original materials. 

• Tokens: Includes 8 commemorative metal tokens with an aged bronze finish, each chosen to represent a decade of the game's history: the Bathtub for the 30s, the Car for the 40s, the Dog for the 50s, the Locomotive for the 60s, the Lantern for the 70s, the Boat for the 80s, the Trophy for the 90s, and the Cat, added in February 2013 following a public vote (although the box states it represents the 2000s, to visually group it into that decade's space).

• Properties: Instead of modern plastic pieces, it includes wooden houses and hotels (natural-finish houses and red hotels), emulating the original Parker Brothers components from 1935.

• "Chance" and "Community Chest" cards: They keep their traditional names but feature period-style graphic design and illustrations, fully retro and matching the classic included banknotes.

Historical curiosity: The "Willy Wonka Effect": In February 2015, Hasbro France ran one of the most viral marketing campaigns in its history. In Creutzwald, a small town, the company prepared an ultra-limited run of 80 special boxes, randomly mixed among 30,000 units of different editions. These boxes contained cash prizes of €150, €300, and a single box with the complete bank of €20,580 in real banknotes. Although the prize boxes were camouflaged to weigh the same as regular boxes on a scale, the winning ones showed a very slight bulge in the lid, as the real money took up more space than the game's banknotes 

The grand prize of €20,580 was discovered in late March 2015 in the PACA region (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur), where a mother opened the winning box to play with her children and found the real bank inside. 

As this edition is preserved in its native state, Factory Sealed (sealed from the factory) under its original cellophane, archival and/or private images are used to show the interior.
